ushbu maqolada ommaviy axborot vositalarining (OAV) davlat va jamiyat o‘rtasidagi munosabatlarda bajaradigan institutsional roli va funksiyalari tahlil qilinadi. OAVning demokratik jarayonlardagi o‘rni, axborot tarqatish mexanizmlari, siyosiy va ijtimoiy diskursga ta’siri hamda raqamli transformatsiya sharoitidagi yangi vazifalari ko‘rib chiqiladi. Maqolada OAVning fuqarolik jamiyatini shakllantirishdagi ahamiyati, davlat siyosatiga nisbatan nazorat funksiyasi va jamiyat bilan davlat o‘rtasida ko‘prik vazifasini o‘tash mexanizmlari muhokama qilinadi. Tadqiqot natijalari shuni ko‘rsatadiki, mustaqil va sifatli ommaviy axborot muhiti sog‘lom davlat-jamiyat munosabatlarining ajralmas shartidir. OAV demokratiya va ochiq boshqaruvning poydevori bo‘lib, fuqarolarni xabardor qilib turadi, jamoatchilik fikrini shakllantiradi va siyosiy ishtirokni rag‘batlantiradi.
