Cancer is a large group of diseases that can start in almost any organ or tissue of the body when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably. Globally, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in females, with around 660 000 new cases in 2022. The most common cervical cancer is squamous cell carcinoma, accounting for 70% of cases. Adenocarcinoma is less common (about 25% of cases) and more difficult to diagnose because it starts higher in the cervix
